A 17-year-old was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries after the car he was riding in struck a pole, it was reported.
“Basically, this was a case of a (driver) going too fast and losing control in the rain,” said California Highway Patrol officer Javier Muniz.
The vehicle, traveling at an unknown rate of speed, smashed into a utility pole, knocking it to the ground Saturday night at Knabe Rd., just south of Weirick Rd., in an unincorporated area of Corona.
Muniz said he did not believe that drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Daniel Lane contributed to this report.
