A residential structure was gutted by fire Saturday night, officials reported.
According to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, the blaze was reported at 7:59 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 in the 28100 block of Patterson Ave. in Winchester.
Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department crews — 21 firefighters and five engines — responded to the report of fire and found the single story structure fully engulfed in flames.
The building appeared to be abandoned, but was surrounded by what looked like toys, office or classroom furniture, according to SWRNN on-scene reporter Joe Fanaselle.
Some of the surrounding material was also lost in the blaze.
The fire was contained at approximately 8:35 p.m., Hendrickson said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
