Motorist cut from mangled wreckage in Perris crash

One person had to be cut out of a vehicle as two cars crashed in Perris, a spokeswoman said today.

Firefighters used a hydraulic tool Friday night to pry open one of the mangled vehicles and free the moderately-injured occupant.

Dispatchers received a call at 6:12 p.m. of the crash that happened at Perris Boulevard and Hart Lane, Riverside County Fire spokeswoman MelodyHendrickson said.

Hendrickson said the injured person was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Details about the cause of the crash were not available.
