A small electrical fire had customers and employees evacuating themselves Saturday night from a Temecula pharmacy.
The incident took place at 8:42 p.m. Jan. 26 at CVS Pharmacy, located at 33205 Temecula Parkway.
“There was a small electrical shorts in one of the refrigerators, enough to put out some smoke and a little bit of concern,” said Riverside County Fire Captain Ty Davis.
Davis said that the store was evacuated when crews arrived.
Firefighters isolated the refrigerator and made quick work of the minor fire.
Rainy conditions can create additional condensation in and around electrical appliances with the potential to cause a short or even a fire, Davis said, urging caution.
Fire danger is always present, even on a rain-soaked day, Davis said.
No injuries were reported.
CVS Pharmacy reopened for business shortly before 9:30 p.m.
