A 25-year-old man was found dead inside an apartment in Mission Valley today and the San Diego police homicide detectives were investigating, a police lieutenant said.
Officers were dispatched at about 6:20 a.m. to a complex in the 700 block of Camino de la Reina near Camino del Arroyo after the man’s roommate awoke and discovered the body, according to San Diego police Lt. Ernie Herbert.
“Officers and medics entered the apartment, noticed blood inside and confirmed the man was deceased,” Herbert said in a statement.
Herbert said the preliminary investigation indicated the victim may have been stabbed, but the actual cause of his death had yet to be determined.
The man had been tentatively identified, but his name was withheld until his identity could be confirmed and his family notified, Herbert said.
Detectives were working to process the scene for evidence and check the apartment complex for witnesses, Herbert said.
