Encanto: Man found dead with multiple injuries prompts homicide investigation

Homicide detectives today investigated the death of a 43-year-old man in San Diego’s Encanto neighborhood.

Officers responded to a call about a man not breathing at a home at about 6:30 p.m., on Sunday Jan. 27 in the 5900 block of Linnet Street, according to San Diego police Lt. Ernie Herbert.

Once there, officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the man, who was found in his bedroom by a roommate, Herbert said.

“Medics arrived and assumed the rescue efforts, but were unable to save the man’s life,” the lieutenant said.

The cause of death was under investigation but homicide detectives were called due to “the man having a number of unexplained injuries,” Herbert said, without elaborating.

The man’s name was unavailable early today.
