Stargazing event planned for the public at Murrieta Public Library

Star light, star bright, what cool things will we see tonight? At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, families will explore the night sky with the Temecula Valley Astronomers Group in the Library’s Garden of Verses.

“Events like this are both fun and educational,” Youth Services Librarian Allison Eagans said. “We have provided this program annually with the excellent guidance of the Temecula Valley Astronomers Group for the last several years and the kids really seem to enjoy it.”

The event will begin in the Library’s Community Room with a short discussion of what the children can expect to see through the telescopes.

Children are welcome to bring their personal telescopes. Jackets are recommended.

This event, sponsored by the Friends of the Murrieta Public Library, is free and open to the public.

Space is limited to 60 participants; tickets will be available 30 minutes prior to the performance.

The Murrieta Public Library is located at 8 Town Square (Adams Avenue and Kalmia Street).

For more information about the program call 951-304-BOOK 2665 or visit the Library’s web page at www.murrietalibrary.info.
