A Hemet man has been arrested on drunk driving charges after he lost control of his car and smashed into a tree in a single car collision, law enforcement authorities reported today.
Officers responded to the scene just before 10:30 p.m., on Monday Jan. 28 on Ramona Boulevard west of Windsong Lane In San Jacinto.
According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. McKinney, 28-year-old Patrick Cooney was barreling westbound on Ramona Boulevard when he lost control of his black Nissan Sentra and crashed into a curb before plowing into a tree.
“The vehicle overturned coming to rest on its roof several feet from the point of impact,” Sgt. McKinney stated in a sheriff’s report.
Cooney,who was uninjured in the crash, was arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of driving under the influence.
His passenger suffered minor injuries.
