The California Highway Patrol in Indio will offer a free “Smart Start” teen driver class tonight for parents and teenagers.
The 6 p.m. class includes information designed to help teenagers who are about to, or have already received, their driver’s licenses become better equipped to handle situations behind the wheel, CHP Officer Joe Zagorski said.
The class is open to young people 15 to 19 years old.

“The CHP’s goal is to begin a learning process that parents can then continue which will help teen drivers become more aware of the responsibilities that accompany having a driver’s license,” Zagorski said.
Reservations are required, and participating teens must be accompanied by a parent.
