These programs will be conducted at various locations in the city of Moreno Valley through September 2013.

Motor vehicle collisions continue to be the primary cause of injuries and fatalities to children 0-7 years of age in California.

The speed at which motor vehicles travel and the lack of proper and safe occupant protection is a disturbing issue among transportation and injury professionals.

In 2009, 1532 children 0-7 years of age were injured and 15 children killed in Riverside County due to either the misuse or non-use of a child restraint system.

The car sat education and fitting stations will help educate parents on the importance of proper car sear installation and use.

Certified car seat technicians will be available to inspect car seats free of charge.

Car seats which do not meet the Federal Motor Safety Standard may be replaced.

The first car seat education and fitting station will begin at 8 a.m., on Tuesday Feb. 6 at the Moreno Valley Community Park.

Parents are encouraged to come and have their car seat inspected.

This event is sponsored by Riverside County Injury Prevention through funds provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
