Oceanside house fire displaces woman

An Oceanside woman was displaced today following a fire that heavily damaged her Oceanside home and left her and a firefighter with relatively minor burns.

The fire at 117 Frontier Drive was reported at 10:33 p.m., Tuesday Jan. 29, according to Oceanside fire Battalion Chief Joe Ward.

Crews arrived a minute later and declared the flames under control at 10:48 p.m., the chief said in a statement.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene, then released her to friends and family, Ward said.

A firefighter suffered first- and second-degree burns to his shoulder and arms and was taken to Tri-City Medical Center for treatment, Ward said, adding he was treated and released.

The structure and its contents sustained heavy damage, according to Ward.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
