Police are on the hunt for a man who they say attempted to kidnap a woman as she walked, it was reported.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, San Jacinto police officers responded to a call of an attempted kidnapping at about 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 in the 200 block of W. Main St.
Officials said the victim was walking alone when she was approached by a man who’d stepped out of a mini-van.
“The suspect grabbed the victim’s arm and told her to get into the van. Fearing for her safety, the victim pepper sprayed the suspect who released her … got back into his mini-van and drove away,” said Sgt. Joey Nardone in the report.
The suspect is described as a black male adult, wearing a beanie, dark shirt and jeans.
The vehicle is an unknown-type, dark colored mini-van.
Responding units along with Sheriff’s helicopter “STAR 9″, searched the area for the suspect, but could not locate him or his vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the San Jacinto Police Station at 951- 654-2702.

Every woman should carry pepper spray and have a few self defense skills ready. Glad she got away safely.
