The vehicle fell more than 50 feet, leaving one person trapped, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

Cal Fire, Riverside County Sheriff’s officials, and Southern California Edison are all on the scene.

One person has been transported to the hospital after fire crews were able to free the victim from underneath the wreckage, according to Hendrickson.

The motorist’s injuries are not known at this time.

According to SWRNN on-scene reporter Daniel Lane, radio transmissions indicated that first responders were searching for a possible second victim, but that is unconfirmed.

Before falling more than 50 feet the vehicle hit a powerline poll, shattering it, Lane said.

This is a developing story.
