A woman was assaulted outside her home north of Moreno Valley and flown to a local hospital for treatment, a sergeant said today.

Sheriff’s deputies rushed to the 8000 block of Reche Canyon Road on Saturday and found the victim suffering from injuries after receiving a call for help at 4:25 p.m., Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Nathan Kaas said.

Reche Canyon Road was closed off as detectives investigated the scene, in an unincorporated area north of Moreno Valley.

No one was arrested, but Kaas said the investigation was ongoing.

Kaas did not disclose the victim’s medical condition, or the nature of her injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies encouraged anyone with information about the assault to call investigator Ed Seltzer of the Moreno Valley sheriff’s station at 951-486-6700 or 951-776-1099.
