Body discovered near lighthouse on San Pedro cliffside

A man’s body was found today near the Point Fermin Historic Lighthouse in San Pedro, authorities said.

Firefighters were sent to the 800 block of West Paseo Del Mar about 9:50 a.m., said Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The body was that of a man in his 60s, said Los Angeles police Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Media Relations office.

The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
