Cal Fire and Riverside County firefighters responded to the scene of a crash involving at least three vehicles this morning on the northbound I-215, it was reported today.

“Traffic started to slow down and a vehicle came in fast. The person (in the vehicle) was not attentive to their driving,” Vicino said.
Vicino noted that a woman driving a Ford Focus had reached down to the center console for a Kleenex and was unaware that traffic was slowing to a stop in front of her.
The woman hit her brakes, swerved to avoid hitting one car, then hit two more stopped cars before becoming airborne and flipping over.
Vicino said the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
“It’s important to stay attentive to your driving. Always look forward … drive at a safe enough speed so that you can slow down and stop for any hazards in the road,” Vicino said.
According to a report by Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann, three other motorists involved in the crash were unharmed.
Traffic remained backed up for several hours as crews worked to clear up the scene.
