A man robbed a Riverside bank today but slipped away before authorities could nab him.
The robbery occurred around 11:40 a.m. at a Chase bank branch fronting the Arlington Square Shopping Center, near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Madison Street.
According to Riverside police, a young man approached a teller, told her he was armed and demanded cash.
The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money from her drawer, and the suspect fled the location, police said.
Officers arrived moments later but could not locate him.
The suspect was described as white, 18-20 years old, about 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, wearing a dark-colored jacket with what appeared to be white chevrons on the left front pocket. He was also wearing a white and blue baseball cap.
