Update @ 10:34 a.m.: Riverside County sheriff’s detectives today were investigating the killing in Nuevo of two women believed to be a mother and daughter, it has been reported.
The second victim has been identified as 25-year-old Connie Gonzalez of Nuevo, according to a Riverside County Coroner’s report.
Original Story: Homicide investigators are on the lookout for a suspect who was last seen running from an area where one woman was found dead and the other gravely injured, officials reported today.
Officers responded just after 5 p.m., on Monday Feb. 4 to the 29000 block of Central Street in Nuevo.
Both women appeared to have massive traumatic injuries.
“One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cal Fire Personnel,” Sgt. Erickson stated in a sheriff’s report.
The second woman was rushed to Menifee Valley Medical Center where she died as a result of her injuries. She has been identified as Maria Gonzalez, 51, of Nuevo by the Riverside County Coroner’s office.
Investigators scoured the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him, Erickson stated.
The suspect was described by eyewitnesses as a Hispanic male adult, 18 to 20-years-old, wearing dark clothing.
