Authorities release sketch of suspect sought in Nuevo killings

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department released today a composite sketch of a suspect being sought in connection with the slaying of two Nuevo women on Monday, Feb. 4.

The killing occurred at approximately 5:04 p.m. on Monday on Central Ave. near the cross street of Ramona Ave. in Nuevo.

According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, the man was described as an Hispanic male between the ages of 17 and 25, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-8 inches tall, with a medium to thin build and very short dark hair to shaved head.

The suspect wore jeans (gray, blue or black in color), and a gray or dark-colored hooded style jacket over his head.

This subject was last seen running West on Central towards Menifee Rd. and then possibly south on Menifee Rd.

Riverside County Sheriff’s homicide investigators and volunteers from the Nuevo Citizen’s Patrol conducted a checkpoint on Central and Ramona avenues in Nuevo today to speak to motorists and provide an informational flyer.

The purpose of the checkpoint was to attempt to locate any additional witnesses to the murder or anyone who may have information on the identity of the suspect.
