Los Angeles: Young Canadian tourist missing, foul play suspected

A young Canadian woman visiting Los Angeles is missing, and her disappearance is regarded as “suspicious and may suggest foul play,” police said today.

Elisa Lam, 21, of Vancouver, British Columbia, was traveling alone, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

She was last seen at a downtown hotel.

Detectives circulated the woman’s photo, and planned an afternoon news conference to release details of the case.
