The southbound train, number 210, struck the man about 9:30 a.m. near San Fernando Road and Wolfskill Street, about a mile south of the Sylmar/San Fernando Station, according to Metrolink.

San Fernando police Sgt. Todd Orsini said the man jumped in front of the train, and the case was being investigated as a suicide.

His name was not immediately released.

A “bus bridge” was arranged to accommodate rail passengers in the affected area during the investigation.

Normal rail service resumed about 11:40 a.m., Metrolink reported.
