The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced it has beefed up patrols in Nuevo in light of a recent double murder that took place in the area.

“Patrol forces are being supplemented by deputies assigned to the Gang Task Force, the Special Enforcement Bureau, aviation and K-9 resources,” Sgt. Lisa McConnell stated in a recent sheriff’s report.
In addition, the Nuevo Citizens Patrol, a community based group of Riverside Sheriff’s Department volunteers is continuing to patrol the community and report suspicious persons to patrol deputies in the area.
