Sheriff’s deputies chased a reckless driver in a possibly stolen car for about 50 minutes today before he surrendered in the vicinity of Bryant Park in Riverside and was found to have three felony warrants.
The driver and a woman in the green Acura were taken into custody on Wells Avenue near Van Buren Boulevard about 12:15 p.m., Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa McConnell said.
The chase started about 11:25 a.m. in the Glen Avon area, near Pedley Road and Galena Street, she said.
At times during the chase, the driver ran stop signs and drove on the wrong side of the road, but no accidents were reported, the sergeant said.
Riverside police joined the chase once it entered the city, but the suspect, whose name was unavailable pending booking, was quickly turned over to sheriff’s deputies, McConnell said.
Both suspects were found with “controlled substances,” she said.
No information was immediately available about the warrants.

What is with the rims on this sheriff’s vehicle? I wish I could afford those bad boys. I thought Riverside County was short on cash.
