The fourth annual Helen Woodward Animal Center Puppy Love 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for this morning to raise funds for animal care and programs at the facility.
The events are scheduled to take place along Highway 101 in Solana Beach, with registration set for 7 a.m. and the run/walk to get under way at 8 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to bring their canines along for the exercise.
Surf Dog Ricochet, the pooch that helps disabled children ride the waves, is set to lead the walkers, while Raoul Martinez of FOX 5 San Diego is scheduled to host the runners.
Post-race activities include a Furry Valentine Canine Costume Contest, judged by Magic 92.5′s Jagger and Kristi, and television personality Bonnie-Jill Laflin; yoga for dogs, canine agility courses and various children’s activities.
The entry fee is $40 for adults and $15 for youth.
