Del Mar: Border Patrol agents capture cliff climbing illegal immigrants

Nearly a dozen suspected illegal immigrants were detained in Del Mar early today after sailing a panga boat into the United States.

Border Patrol agents spotted the boat heading north off the coast of Torrey Pines about 2:30 a.m., according to the federal agency.

The detainees were caught a short time later climbing up cliffs with flashlights near 11th Street in Del Mar, Border Patrol officials said.
