Medical personnel arrived on scene in the 3900 block of west Florida Avenue and noticed Elise Grace, 91, of Desert Hot Springs had suffered major trauma from the reported mauling.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Hemet Police detectives were called in and assumed the investigation, Lt. Wisehart stated in a Hemet Police press release.

According to detectives, it appears the woman lived in the motel room with her son and the two pit bulls.

The attack is being ruled an accident.

“The dogs were removed from the room by animal control,” Wisehart reported.

It’s not an accident when pit bulls attack someone they know. And this has happened plenty of times before, dysfunctional adult son living with mother or father with his pit bulls — then pit bulls kill mother or father. It really is time to ban the entire class of pit bull type dogs, including all their mixes and derivatives.
Piece of trivia: This poor woman was number 248 killed by pit bulls in the past thirty years. So far this year, pit bulls are responsible for 100% of deaths by dog attack.

What happened to the Dogs? Destroyed or given back to the son? Attack was ruled an accident? How can such irresponsible behavior by this adult son be excused as an accident?
