The San Diego County Fair was a top award winner at the Western Fairs Association (WFA) Convention and Trade Show held Jan. 20–23 in Reno, Nevada.
The 2012 Fair received a total of 26 awards including awards for Marketing and Agriculture/Educational Programs, the Fair Theme and New Conservation and Green Programs.
WFA is a non-profit trade association serving the Fair industry in the Western United States and Canada.
“As we continue to be a leader in the Fair industry, The San Diego County Fair stays true to the mission of the 22nd District Agricultural Association,” said General Manager/CEO of the 22nd DAA, Timothy J. Fennell. “Over the years we have become an integral part of San Diego County by supporting agriculture and educational activities such as 4-H, FFA, Grange and other youth development programs and we will continue that mission in 2013. We will keep agriculture alive and thriving in San Diego County now and for future generations that will add to our fruitful history of the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.”

The 2012 San Diego County Fair also received 21 awards from The International Association of Fairs and Expositions for outstanding Agricultural and Competitive programs at the IAFE Convention and Trade Show held Nov. 25-29, 2012 in Las Vegas Nevada.
The San Diego County Fair is the largest annual event in San Diego County and is the 4th largest fair in North America.
In 2012, the Fair drew more than 1.5 million visitors making it another record breaking year for the 4th year in a row
“GAME ON” is the theme for the 2013 San Diego County Fair. The 2013 San Diego County Fair will open on Saturday, June 8 and run through Thursday, July 4. The Fair will be closed the first three Mondays: June 10, 17 and 24.
