Sarah Hammer of Temecula was selected today by USA Cycling as the lone U.S. representative for the 2013 UCI Track World Championships, which will be held Feb. 20-24 in Minsk, Belarus.
Hammer will compete in the omnium, scratch race and individual pursuit in the world championships.
“Sarah is an incredibly gifted, exceptional athlete with a massive work ethic,” said Jim Miller, USA Cycling’s vice president of athletics. “She is a fierce competitor. Sarah has a grueling schedule planned for the 2013 UCI Track World Championships, but I imagine she will exceed even her own expectations.”
