The driver of a tractor trailer was killed today when his rig left the road and flipped onto its side east of Coachella.

The crash was reported on eastbound Interstate 10 near Cactus City Rest Area around 1:50 a.m.
The rig veered off the road and turned onto its side, trapping the driver, according to the Riverside County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol.
No other injuries were reported.
The CHP was investigating the crash.
The driver’s name was withheld until his family could be notified.
