Body of Palm Springs man found on bank of Whitewater River

An investigation was under way today into the death of a 49-year-old Palm Springs man found dead on the bank of the Whitewater River in Palm Springs.

Armando Navarro was found about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday about half-mile northeast of Tipton Road and Highway 111 on the west bank of the river, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of death was not immediately known.
