An Assembly hearing on restoration of the Salton Sea will be held in Mecca next week.
The Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife hearing is scheduled for Feb. 22 at the North Shore Community Center, according to Assemblyman V. Manuel Perez, D-Coachella.
Assemblyman Ben Hueso, chairman of the committee, will “examine current efforts and future opportunities” related to the sea, according to Perez’s office.
Speakers will include representatives from state agencies, local government, academia and non-governmental organizations.
The hearing will be webcast live, according to Perez’s office.
