The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose today to its highest amount since Oct. 28, increasing 1.7 cents to $4.17.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has increased 17 consecutive days, rising 45.4 cents over that span, including 1 cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 11.4 cents more than one week ago, 51.7 cents higher than one month ago and 31.9 cents greater than one year ago.
The increasing prices are the result of reduced supplies caused by low levels of production in Southern California stemming from refinery maintenance, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

Stop giving excuses for the rise in prices. Just tell like it is and that is the prices rise because the oil companies can increase or decrease the price because they can. No more excuses.
