Riverside: Man injured in hit-and-run crash

A male who was reportedly pushing a vehicle that ran out of gas was injured in a hit-and-run crash this morning on a freeway transition road in Riverside, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 12:15 a.m. on the transition road from the southbound Riverside (215) Freeway to the southbound Moreno Valley (215/60) Freeway, according to the CHP.

A witness said a male pushing a Lincoln sedan that ran out of gas was struck by a vehicle that left the scene, according to the CHP’s online Traffic Incident Information Page.

The crash shut down the transition road until around 1:10 a.m., said a CHP dispatcher.

The victim’s condition was not available.
