It’s a dangerous, delectable combination and it will soon make its much-anticipated appearance.
The 5th Annual Pechanga Wine Festival with its two-day Chocolate Decadence fest is planned for Mar. 8-9 at Pechanga Resort & Casino.
The two-day extravaganza will begin with the dessert, wine and music celebration Chocolate Decadence on from 7p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, March 8 inside the Pechanga Ballroom. Musical accompaniment at the Chocolate Decadence includes piano virtuoso Sebastian Sidi. The event cost is $45 per ticket.
Then the Pechanga Wine Festival, featuring hundreds of varietals poured along with great food pairings by Pechanga top chefs and a performance by famed “American Idol” contestant Casey Abrams is planned from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 9 also in the Ballroom. The Wine Festival is $65 per ticket.
Casey Abrams became world famous when he took sixth place on the tenth season of “American Idol.” The 21-year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist proves he is here to stay with his self-titled debut album on Concord Records.
The Chocolate Decadence will feature more than 30 premium wineries pouring domestic, sparkling, late harvest, Zinfandels, Syrahs and ports.
Meanwhile, Pechanga’s new chocolatier, Frania Mendivil, will present an array of decadent treats to complement the vast selections of wines. Mendivil has baked at several four and five star resorts including the Beverly Hilton, the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, and the Four Seasons Newport Beach, as well as being one of three chefs on Team USA at the International Patisserie Grand Prix in 2009.
The following day, the 5th Annual Pechanga Wine Festival will feature more than 100 wineries from across the nation, as well as international vintners from Argentina, South Africa, Germany and Spain, pouring their most acclaimed varietals.
Pechanga’s award-winning chefs will be pairing the wines with selections from their menus, including The Great Oak Steakhouse, Paisano’s, Blazing Noodles/Bamboo, Seafood Grotto, Kelsey’s and Journey’s End. Live culinary demonstrations will teach chef secrets to festival goers.
For the fifth year, we have gone all out with even more wineries and world renowned entertainment. This is the wine event of the year for the Temecula Valley,” said Pechanga’s Vice President of Food & Beverage, Dennis Khan in a released statement.
