Sheriff’s deputies raced to the 1000 block of Dolly Drive after receiving a call at 5:38 p.m. Friday about the discovery of George Alongi, 77.

Paramedics tried reviving Alongi, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Buompensiero said.

It was not immediately disclosed who discovered Alongi, or how long he had been dead inside his home, Riverside sheriff’s Deputy Myling Bordeau told City News Service.

Detectives reported that Alongi suffered traumatic injuries on his body, but did not specify a cause of death.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, Buompensiero said.

No information about possible suspects has been made available.
