No jackpot tickets for the latest Mega Millions drawing were sold in California, and prizes went to buyers in other states, a California Lottery official announced last night.
The numbers drawn tonight were 1, 15, 19, 30 and 56, and the Mega number was 28. The estimated jackpot was $26 million.
A ticket bearing five winning numbers, and the Mega bonus number, was sold in Maryland. Runner-up prizes were awarded to one purchaser each in Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio and Texas.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number are 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website.
The overall chance of winning a prize of some size is 1 in 40.
The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
