A short circuit activated a smoke detector and set off sprinklers at the Larson Justice Center in Indio today, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The alarm was reported about 11:45 a.m. at the courthouse, 46200 Oasis St.
The first crews who arrived reported seeing smoke on the outside of the building, and there were reports of people smelling smoke inside, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
Firefighters later determined there was no active fire, Hendrickson said.
No evacuations were reported.
