A Subway sandwich shop was robbed by an armed gunman Friday night in Murrieta.

According to radio reports, employees of the eatery were robbed at gunpoint by a man demanding money shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at Hunter and Winchester roads in Murrieta.

The man brandished a semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash.

The suspect was described as a white male, five-foot-seven, 140 pounds, and wearing a black ski mask, gray gloves and brown pants, according to a scanner report.

The man was last seen running with a clear sandwich bag filled with an undisclosed amount of cash westbound toward Shady Maple.

No injuries were reported.

The shop was re-opened for business shortly after 8 p.m.
