A three-car crash snarled traffic Friday night near Old Town Temecula.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Ave. and Rancho California Rd. in Temecula.
One car — a silver SUV — rolled over and landed on its roof in the southbound side of Jefferson Ave.
Also involved in the accident was a red Mini-Cooper and a white Toyota Corolla sedan.
At least two people were injured in the incident — both with injuries described as moderate, according to scanner reports at the scene.
Both were transported via ground ambulance to area hospitals.
Temecula police were on hand to direct traffic and interview witnesses.
Riverside County Fire Department crews also responded to the scene with a fire engine and truck.
Traffic was slowed for at least an hour as efforts were made to clear the crash site, with both southbound Jefferson Ave. and eastbound Rancho California Rd. closed for a time.
All lanes were open and traffic was beginning to move freely shortly before 9 p.m.
This is a developing story.
