Breast cancer survivors, fighters, their families, co-workers, and friends are invited to attend to learn more about Making Strides and how they can take part.

“We are so excited to bring this nationally acclaimed walk to our community, said volunteer Event Chair Lynn Koch, a breast cancer survivor and advocate.

“There is so much we can do for our neighbors, families, and companies through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Anyone can get involved and help our community fight back against breast cancer. Just give us a call and we will help you start a team,” Koch said.

The non-competitive walk will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 at The Shoppes at Chino Hills.

Teams of walkers will complete an easy two-mile course and take part in activities before/after the walk.

The American Cancer Society is joined by Target Stores, Riverside Medical Clinic and Clear Channel Radio (KGGI Radio 99.1;  Funny Radio 1440 AM; The Toad 1350 AM; Smooth Jazz 94.5FM; Q103.3 Classic Rock) in taking a leadership position in the community’s fight against breast cancer.

“The American Cancer Society uses the funds raised through Making Strides to fund research leading to the discovery of lifesaving treatments, advocate for all women to have access to mammograms and treatments – regardless of income – and to provide free programs and services that improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families,” said Tara Owsley, volunteer on the Strides planning committee who works closely with Ayala High School students to fundraise and participate in the event.
