A body was found in Westchester today inside a vehicle damaged by fire, authorities said.

The male body was discovered around 4:35 a.m. by Los Angeles firefighters who had been dispatched to the 5400 block of West 99th Street, said Los Angeles police Officer Diana Figueroa of the Media Relations office.
The body was in the front seat of the vehicle, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter, adding that the death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Neither the cause of death or the person’s identity were immediately determined.
