Palm Desert: Non-profit to hold opera event free for the public

An afternoon of music, art and entertainment will be featured during the 4th annual Festival of Opera and Art at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park.

The event, which is free to the public, is being put on by OperaArts, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing quality music to the Coachella Valley. The festival is scheduled for Sunday, April 14.

Among the slated highlights of the festival is ”Vive Verdi,” which would feature the arias, duets and ensembles from the Italian composer’s operatic works Aida, Macbeth, Rigoletto and Il Trovatore.

The tribute is being organized in celebration of the Giuseppe Verdi’s 200th birthday.
