San Marcos: Victim in attempted robbery sustains gunshot wound

A person was shot and wounded in an attempted robbery in San Marcos today.

The robbery was at 8:39 a.m. in the 300 block of Smilax Road, and no suspect has been found, said sheriff’s Lt. Scott Amos.

“One subject was approached by two or more subjects in an apparent robbery attempt,” Amos said. “The victim resisted and sustained one gunshot wound.”

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspects, identified only as one or more Hispanic males, were last seen leaving in a black vehicle which may have been a Honda.

There was no information on the victim’s gender, age or injuries.
