Newport Beach: Dead man found floating in water

The body of a man was found in the water off Newport Beach, the Orange County coroner said today.

The discovery in the water near the jetty at 40th Street was made at 1:30 p.m., Sunday Feb. 24, the coroner said in a statement, adding that autopsy will be performed this week.

The man’s name was not immediately reported.
