CHP asks public’s help in finding driver who struck, killed Thermal man

The California Highway Patrol sought the public’s help today in tracking down a motorist who fatally struck a 27-year-old Thermal man on Interstate 10 in Indio.

Antonio Jose Salazar was walking in the No. 1 lane of westbound I-10 east of Golf Center Parkway when he was struck by a light-colored sedan about 11:40 p.m. Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Joe Zagorski.

Salazar died at the scene.

The sedan is believed to have front-end damage. No further description was given.
