Palm Desert: CVS employee beat with bottle of booze, suspect behind bars

A teenager is behind bars after he is suspected of stealing a bottle of alcohol and assaulting a store clerk at a CVS store in Palm Desert, it has been reported.

The employee, who suffered minor injuries, told officers a man wearing a baseball cap and dark sweatshirt entered the store just after 1 a.m., Thursday Feb 28 located at 42155 Washington Street and tried to steal a alcohol.

The victim attempted to stop the suspect at the door and was attacked before the suspect fled.

Patrol units in the vicinity spotted a male matching the description of the suspect, Sgt. Black stated in Riverside County Sheriff’s press release.

Angel Rivas, 18, of Indio was arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio on charges of strong-armed robbery.
