La Canada Flintridge: Explosion at Sports Chalet sends two to hospital with burns

Two people were burned today in an apparent natural gas explosion at a Sports Chalet store in La Canada Flintridge just before it opened, authorities said.

Firefighters were sent to No. 2 Sport Chalet Drive, east of the intersection of Angeles Crest Highway and Foothill Boulevard, about 10 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

There was no fire.

The two victims have been hospitalized.

Their conditions were being withheld.
