Beaumont police received a call at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday from a friend who became concerned when the 44-year-old woman wasn’t been seen or heard from in several days, Beaumont spokeswoman Darci Mulvihill said.

Officers went to a home in the 200 block of West 7th Street and found the body.

The woman’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.

But Mulivill said detectives named the woman’s roommate, Vanessa Kathleen Fierro, 30, as a ”person of interest” in the case.

The woman’s death was ruled a homicide by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. No details were released as to the cause or time of death in her 7th Street home.

Police asked anyone with information about Fierro’s whereabouts to call the on-duty watch commander at 951-769-8500.
