Lake Matthews: Moreno Valley man dies in motorcycle accident

A Moreno Valley man was killed as his sport motorcycle veered off a street in an unincorporated area of Riverside County, causing him to be ejected, a California Highway Patrol officer said today.

Officers received a call at about 1:40 p.m. Friday and rushed to Multiview Drive east of Mandeville Drive, CHP officer Steve Carapia said.The area sits in between Lake Mathews and Mead Valley.

The 57-year-old motorcyclist was riding east on Multiview Drive at about 30 mph when he inexplicably veered to the right and went off the roadway.

The bike, a 2000 Yamaha R-1, was on its side when the rider was ejected.

The rider had been alone and was pronounced dead at the scene, Carapia said.

The victim’s name was not released pending notification of relatives, and the crash was under investigation.
