San Jacinto: Teen suspect tries to stab victim in attempted robbery

A teen-aged boy chased after a victim during an attempted robbery in San Jacinto, tried to stab him and then fled with three other teens, a sergeant said today.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 6:40 p.m. Friday to the 2500 block of South Jacinto Avenue where four suspects accosted the victim and told him

“They knew where he was from,” Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Santiago Agcaoili said.

Agcaoili said the victim started to walk away one of the suspects ran after him and fought with the victim.

The teen-aged assailant tried stabbing the victim but missed as the three other suspects looked on. All three suspects evaded capture.

The name, age and extent of possible injuries to the victim were withheld.

The lead suspect was described as a Latino who looked 16 years old, was 5 feet-10 inches tall, weighed about 165 lbs. and had a mustache.

He had shaved black hair and wore a black shirt with a white design and black shorts, Agcaoili said.
